Harms to children from others’ drinking: recent findings and their policy impacts

Anne-Marie Laslett initiated a program of work studying harm to children from others’ drinking while funded by the NHMRC on an Early Career Fellowship. Her presentation will summarise her work at NDRI over 2015-2019, including:

• Western Australian studies of liquor licence density, alcohol sales and child protection cases

• WHO/Thai Health Harm from Others’ Drinking Project Phase 2

• A US multinational grant on Alcohol’s Harm to Others (AHTO) analysing child and other AHTO data from 16 countries.

Anne-Marie will discuss the findings and the historical and potential impacts of these studies overseas and in Australia.
