The Australian Government's National Health, Sustainability and Climate Unit is developing Australia's first National Health and Climate Strategy to ensure the nation's health system can meet the needs of Australians in the face of a changing climate.
In June 2023, the Australian Government invited feedback on the National Health and Climate Strategy Consultation Paper. Submissions closed on 24th July 2023.
AHPA participated in the consultation by:
- Attending a primary-care-focused workshop on 18 July to inform the development of the National Health and Climate Strategy. The workshop was attended by AHPA Board Director Luke van der Beeke.
- Providing a written submission using the Climate and Health Alliance's long-form submission guide. The submission was prepared by AHPA Victoria/Tasmania Branch President Teresa Capetola and Committee member Kate Lowsby. Read AHPA's submission here.
