As Australia and indeed the world moves beyond measuring success and progress by GDP to recognise the pivotal role of the nation’s health and wellbeing, we need someone in this role that understands the range of determinants on health that often sit outside of the health system, and who can drive a renewed focus on promoting health, preventing illness and building a healthy, equitable Australia. Health promotion’s role has never been so significant."
