On 16 May 2023, AHPA together with Public Health Association of Australia (PHAA), Foundation for Alcohol Research and Education (FARE), the Australian Democracy Network and the Human Rights Law Centre hosted a Health + Democracy Forum.
Speakers discussed the pervasive tactics used by harmful industries to influence policy outcomes, why a strong democracy is key to progress, and how we can work together to make our democracy work for all of us, not just the powerful few.
