AHPA® is pleased to be a signatory to the AHPC who released the Tracker report on August 1. This is a comprehensive health report card and companion reports on the health of children and young people and adults.
- 1 in 2 Australians has a chronic disease
- Almost one third could be prevented
- Only 1.5% of the health budget goes to prevention.
The Tracker provides the first comprehensive assessment of how Australia’s population is faring when measured against the health targets for Australia for 2025 that have been developed through this collaboration. Australia’s Health Tracker shows where progress is being made in Australia to prevent chronic diseases and to reduce their impacts. It also shows where Australia is lagging behind world standards and falling short in prevention of chronic diseases.
