This one-day forum will be delivered by Rural Health West in partnership with the WA Country Health Service. The event will include lectures, interactive discussions and sessions delivered concurrently over the course of the day and will be facilitated by experienced specialists. There will also be an opportunity to network with other professionals.

Description: A free public lecture on the topic of sport, men and health. Professor Hunt will discuss her award-winning work and how her research has helped men improve their health. She will also present her ongoing research from Scotland that focuses on sport related commercial marketing activities that have promoted unhealthy behaviours, and how interventions could be introduced to combat this.

Various events will be held during mental health week, aiming to break the stigma surrounding mental health and encouraging support within the community. Mental Health Week will focus on how we live, learn, work and play - realising it's a combination of factors which impact our mental wellbeing.

Outside-in thinking is a business strategy that focuses on customer value and customer experiences and starts from looking outside of the organisation. Taking the perspective of an outsider is not comfortable and requires people to transcend the natural behavioural biases that prevent us from clearly spotting opportunities and threats. However, an outside-in perspective results in true innovation and organisational effectiveness. In this presentation, you will find out how to apply core marketing concepts of customer value and customer experience to design effective behaviour change programs. In doing this, the case examples will come from many different industries to provide inspiration from unexpected sources.

Registrations for the Family and Domestic Violence (FDV) in Pregnancy Symposium are now open.

The event will take place at Perth Children's Hospital on Wednesday 27 November and tickets are only $45. VC is also available.

The day will explore the impacts of FDV on mother and baby, the complexities of FDV in the antenatal space, as well as research and innovation.

The Australian Health Promotion Association (AHPA®) (WA Branch) is conducting a FREE short course that will yarn about health promotion to share knowledge, skills and ideas that will support health promotion within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities. The course is suitable for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people already working in the health sector, those wanting to move into the area and those wanting to incorporate health promotion principles into their role.  

Dates: Monday 2 – Thursday 5 December 2019, 9:00am – 4:00pm daily

Location: Centre for Aboriginal Studies, Curtin University, Bentley (Room number TBA)

Cost: FREE (The value of the course being offered is usually $1300)
