Description: The Public Health Association of Australia (WA Branch) invites you to the 2017 Annual General Meeting to hear from Professor Mike Daube AO “Not a Spectator Sport – Challenges for Contemporary Public Health Advocacy.”
Professor Mike Daube has been Professor of Health Policy at Curtin University since 2005. Before this he was Director General of Health for WA and Chair of the National Public Health Partnership. He has held numerous committee roles, including President of the Public Health Association of Australia, President of the Australian Council on Smoking and Health, co-chair of the National Alliance for Action on Alcohol, Vice-Chair of the WHO FCTC Review Group, and many others. He was founding Director of the Public Health Advocacy Institute and the McCusker Centre for Action on Alcohol and Youth. He has published widely on tobacco, alcohol, advocacy and other health topics, and worked with WHO, governments and other health organisations in many countries.
