After growing up in the Wheatbelt, Melissa moved to Perth to complete her undergraduate and Honours degrees in Psychology. In 2017, she completed her Graduate Diploma in Health Promotion and in 2018 was awarded the AHPA WA Branch Health Promotion Scholarship (Graduate).
Her scholarship project, based at the Collaboration for Evidence, Research and Impact in Public Health (CERIPH) at Curtin University, researched alcohol and connectedness amongst young people who play community sport. Melissa now works at the Alcohol and Drug Foundation on their Good Sports program. Melissa joined the AHPA WA Branch committee in 2019 and has enjoyed helping with advocacy submissions and is on for Capacity Building and Excellence subcommittee.
