Jacquie Maginnis

As DHHS Health Promotion Coordinator Jacquie’s role is supporting Health Department staff to work with Community Service Organisations and Local Councils to assist communities improve their health and wellbeing.

In this role she is a founding member of the Healthy Ageing Network South, and the Statewide Arts, Health and Wellbeing Coalition. Jacquie has a particular interest and involvement in fostering an understanding of the importance of arts to create healthier and more connected communities and individuals.

Her volunteer community involvement has been varied including a current member of Policy Reference Group for Tasmanian Council of Social Services a founding and current member of the Tasmanian Branch of the Australian Health Promotion Association. Jacquie was elected to local government as a Glenorchy Council alderman between 2000 and 2005.

Between 1980 -1992 whilst home raising 5 children Jacquie together with other women in West Moonah helped establish and manage the West Moonah Community House.
