AHPA is pleased to be a member of the organising committee for the Preventive Health Conference 2022, convened by the Public Health Association of Australia (PHAA). Open to mid-career writers, the fellowship is awarded to someone in recognition of their literary achievements and commitment to humanity demonstrated through their active participation and engagement in social justice issues. Applicants must be under the age of 40 and identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, LGBTQIA+, living with a disability, or culturally and linguistically diverse.

Over 30 health groups today released a Joint Statement calling on the federal government to address climate change in the National Preventive Health Strategy, which is currently in development. The Strategy’s Consultation Paper does not include climate change in its six focus areas, nor even mention “climate change”.
