Call for volunteers: Student and Early Career Practitioner Practice Group - Sept 2024

The Student and Early Career Practitioner (S&ECP) Practice Group are calling for volunteers to help with the fortnightly National Jobs Bulletin (NJB). 

The position will require 2-3 hours per fortnight to: 

  • Identify health promotion related job postings 
  • Review job postings for suitability  
  • Collate and organise job postings by state and territory
  • Submit collated job postings within the required timeframe  
  • Adhere to a schedule set by the S&ECP working group 

This would be best suited for a student seeking a flexible volunteer opportunity with AHPA. 

Job title: National Job Bulletin Volunteer

Reporting to: Student & Early Career Practitioner Practice Group

Hours: 2-3 hours per month*

*Hours are based on 2023 averages. This may slightly vary in 2024.

The purpose of the National Job Bulletin Volunteer is to assist in the development of the Australian Health Promotion Association’s (AHPA) National Job Bulletin (NJB), sent to all AHPA members on a fortnightly basis. The NJB features paid and unpaid health promotion and other related roles across Australia.

Use of critical analysis to determine if roles are suitable for the NJB.

Confidence navigating job search websites.

Use Microsoft Word or other application to compile identified roles.

Confidence using Microsoft Word or other applications.

Ability to use computer shortcuts to complete the task more efficiently and effectively.

Ability to complete the NJB within the required timeframe and to the required standard.

10%

High level of organisation.

Ability to communicate any changes to availability.
