The AHPA WA Branch, in collaboration with AHPA National, submitted feedback to the Mental Health Commission on their draft 'Mental Wellbeing Guide', which expands on the mental health promotion components from the Prevention Plan (2018-2025).

The Mental Wellbeing Guide aims to be a key document for guiding principles and best practice for government agencies, non-government organisations, communities, and private organisations who are promoting the mental health and wellbeing of Western Australians. AHPA provided a comprehensive health promotion perspective on the draft document with consideration of past and future research and practice in the mental health promotion field. AHPA advocated for acknowledgement of the significant impact of the social determinants of health and addressing mental health with a multi-faceted 'health in all policies' approach.

The written feedback was prepared by Lily Palmer, Emily Munro and Athira Rohit from the WA Branch in collaboration with Rebecca Zosel and Dr Gemma Crawford, AHPA National.
