AHPA together with a number of leading public health bodies has endorsed a Manifesto for an Australian Centre for Disease Control.
The Manifesto calls for adequate funding commitment to building the Australian Centre for Disease Control in the May 2023 budget and the creation of legislation to establish the agency to be finalised and passed by December 2023.
The call from the public health community comes in the wake of a consultant’s report summarising responses to the Australian Government’s Role and functions of an Australian Centre for Disease Control (CDC) consultation paper.
