AHPA members are encouraged to sign an open letter to the Victorian EPA to reduce pollution
AHPA have joined an alliance of health organisations calling on the Victorian Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) to put strong limits on pollution from Victoria's coal-fired power stations this year in order to protect health. Pollution from coal burning causes cardiovascular, respiratory and neurological diseases including cancers and it contributes significantly to climate change. Current limits on toxic pollution for Victoria's coal-fired power stations are far more lax than limits for coal-fired power stations in Europe and China.
We've signed an open letter calling on the EPA to bring Victoria's coal pollution limits in line with world standards. Please consider reading and signing by 11.59pm Monday 5th March 2018 at www.healthyfutures.net.au/clean_up_coal
