Melinda Edmunds - National President

Melinda has been involved in AHPA since 2014 initially on the WA Branch, starting as Co-Vice President before taking on the President role in July 2014. Melinda joined the Board in 2016 and has held several executive roles since then. In 2016, Melinda was the inaugural winner of the Glen Paley Memorial Award in recognition of her commitment to the Association's mission. Melinda has over 14 years’ experience in health promotion and public health. Across Melinda’s career she has worked in non-government and tertiary sectors in several areas including state-wide injury prevention, sector development, healthy lifestyle programs, capacity building, and public health advocacy. Melinda has a passion for strategic planning, project management and empowering others to build their skills and make a difference. In 2022, Melinda commenced Doctor of Philosophy - Public Health (Curtin University) to continue to expand her research skills and contribution to the field. Melinda currently works as the Program Manager - Ear Health at the Telethon Kids Institute and as a Sessional Academic at Curtin University.
