Emma has almost 15 years of experience in health promotion research and practice working with diverse groups including young people, people in prison, people with diverse genders and sexualities and people in the Pacific. Emma’s PhD explored the application of an intersectionality perspective in health promotion with young people in Samoa, focusing on understanding intimate relationships and intimate partner violence prevention. Building on this work Emma’s research and practice has focused on sexual violence prevention including with young people in tertiary educational contexts, intersectionality in health promotion, and creative solutions to health equity. Emma has been a member of the Australian Health Promotion Association since 2018.
