WORKSHOP: Medication and Falls In Older Adults

Falls can result from a multitude of factors, such as the use of medicines. Some medicines can produce different side effects such as drowsiness, confusion, blurred vision, dizziness, and postural hypotension, which can all contribute and increase the risk of a falls incident. Injury Matters, through the Stay On Your Feet® program, will deliver a 2-hour training workshop on ‘Medication and falls in older adults’ with presenters Dr Andrew Stafford and Dr Tin Fei Sim. The workshop will provide participants with the knowledge and confidence to identify and assess for falls risk in older adults and recommend the appropriate interventions. This workshop is aimed at pharmacy students, early career and practising pharmacists. This workshop is currently in the process of being a Pharmaceutical Society of Australia accredited training.
