We want your contributions!

The Australian Health Promotion Update, national newsletter of the Australian Health Promotion Association relies on member input. We've developed these simple categories below, to prompt you to add something from your workplace or community.

Articles should follow the appropriate format outlined below and be submitted via email ahpa@usc.edu.au to the Editor. All articles should include the author's name, address and contact phone and email details.

Guidelines for Contributions

The Editor reserves the right to edit letters for brevity or clarity.

  • Short Articles (150 - 200 words)
These could be articles on new policy issues, branch events, coming events, conference reports, project snapshots, field experience (including international field experience) and organisational overviews.

  • Book Reviews (150 words)

  • Website Reviews (100 words)

  • Feature Articles (up to 1,000 words)
These are more in depth overviews of events or issues (as outlined above under Short Articles) related to the practice of health promotion. Photos are welcomed and should ideally be in .tif format.

When writing a feature article the format below should be used – however please feel free to contact the Editor (ahpa@usc.edu.au) to discuss any changes you require. Please answer 'who, what, where, when and why'.

Not all these dot points will be necessary for each article so please just use the ones that are applicable to your project.
