Population Health Congress 2008

06 July 2008 to 09 July 2008

A Global World - Practical Action for Health and Well Being

The national Population Health Congress brings together Australia and New Zealand’s four leading professional population health organisations for a four yearly event.

The Population Health Congress was a collaborative conference organised by the Australasian Epidemiological Association (AEA), the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine (AFPHM), the Australian Health Promotion Association (AHPA) and the Public Health Association of Australia (PHAA).

The historic cooperation of these organisations has created the environment for a very large gathering of population health professionals, and provides the opportunity for working across and within organisations on key population health issues as well as unparalleled opportunities for networking.

The program included three sub-themes:

  1. Environment and Health
  2. Social Cohesion, Social Capital and Health
  3. Food and Health
