Following the success of the initial Population Health Congress in 2008, this major event is being held again on the 10th to 12th September 2012 at the Adelaide Convention Centre.
The Congress is again being organised and sponsored by the four leading professional population health organisations in the Asia Pacific region: the Public Health Association of Australia, the Australian Health Promotion Association, the Australasian Epidemiological Association and the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine.
Together these organisations undertake and promote research, professional development, mentoring, training, information, teaching, advocacy and policy development across the full range of population health subject areas, including medical, primary health care, health promotion, epidemiology and public and environmental health.
Delegate Profile
Congress 2012 replaces the four annual conferences usually conducted individually by the organisations in 2012. The historic cooperation of these organisations has created an environment for a very large gathering of population health professionals, and will provide the opportunity for working across and within organisations on key population health issues, as well as unparalleled opportunities for networking. It provides a significant opportunity to access, at the one time, more than 1200 national and international delegates from across the population health continuum, with most delegates drawn from the Asia Pacific region, especiallyAustralia and New Zealand, and employed in not-for-profit and/or community organisations, local, state and federal government, universities, research institutions, hospitals, health care services and other health bodies.
