Electronic Email List Server
The Vic branch has an electronic list server that is available only to members. The list server is used to promote seminars, workshops, and job opportunities. The list server is the key communication channel to members from the Victorian branch. You will be automatically subscribed to the list server if your email details are supplied on the membership form (please remember to notify if there are any changes). There are details at the bottom of each email on how to unsubscribe if you prefer.

Victorian Health Promotion Student of the Year Award
In conjunction with the Student Career's Evening a Student Award was established to recognise 'The Victorian Health Promotion Student of the Year'. Two awards are made available each year, one for an undergraduate and one for a mature age/ post-graduate student. The award is open to all students studying Health Promotion in Victoria whom are members of the Australian Health Promotion Association. Since the establishment of the Award, Deakin and Latrobe Universities and VicHealth have contributed as partners in the promotion, selection and prize content. From the year 2000 The Carole Bailey Scholarship has also accompanied the student award.

Rural Professional Development Initiatives
The rural working group aims to keep the issues affecting the Vic branch's rural members on the agenda and ensure that they have the opportunity to participate in and contribute to AHPA activities. The group's priorities include; open communication and collaboration with rural health professionals and relevant groups and; increased access and equity to ensure active participation in AHPA events for all health professionals living in rural and remote areas. If you are a rural health professional and have suggestions on how we can better serve you please contact the state branch.

Representation on Key Committees, Forums etc.
Members from the Victorian Branch Committee represent the Health Promotion Association
on a number of key Committees - eg. Course advice Committees for Deakin and LaTrobe,
Department of Human Services Workforce Development Committee. In addition AHPA Victorian
Branch Committee also aim to support the positive development of health promotion through
timely review of and response to new strategic documents, agendas and policies.
