Queensland Branch

Background

The Queensland Branch State Executive remains to be the leading dedicated health promotion body in Queensland, dedicated to improving the professional development, networking and communication between health promoters.

The Queensland Branch Executive meets on a monthly basis to continue to progress that objectives of the AHPA. The three key action areas for the executive include:

  • Professional development committee - the Queensland Branch hosts several professional development events each year. These events give members an opportunity to educate themselves about activities in the field of health promotion, as well as to network with others working in the field.
  • Newsletter committee - the Queensland Branch produces a quarterly newsletter which is distributed free of charge to all members. Health Promotion Quarterly features information on state-wide and local health promotion initiatives and provides a useful tool for exchange of communication for health promoters in Queensland.
  • Communication and Advocacy committee - aims to promote the inclusion of health promotion principles and practice in policy and programs at the state and national level.

The Branch Committee is always aiming to provide the most effective services and information to our members. To enable us to do this, we need your feedback. If you have an idea, suggestion or you would like to become involved, we would love to hear from you.
